What is dunning-kruger effect?

The Dunning-Kruger Effect occurs when your lack of knowledge and skills in a certain area causes you to overestimate your own competence.

Example in the hiring process.

The more inexperienced a hiring manager is in hiring, the more convinced they are of their own judgment, they are more confident in their own abilities (overconfidence effect) to determine who to hire. Experienced hiring managers value objective insights much more than inexperienced hiring managers, as experienced hiring managers have experienced making mishires already.
